Introduction
Following its launch in Milan and exhibitions across China, SAOTA40 returns home to Cape Town.

Join us for the opening of Shaped by Place: 40 Years of Architectural Practice, an exhibition celebrating four decades of architectural thinking, exploration and global impact. Through architectural models, film, photography and archival material, visitors are invited to experience the ideas, processes and places that have shaped SAOTA’s journey from a small Cape Town studio to a globally recognised practice.

Presented as part of SAOTA’s 40th anniversary programme, the exhibition offers a rare opportunity to engage with the practice’s history, philosophy and evolving relationship with place, while looking ahead to the future of design.
